It's easy to look all your teacher friends making moves and crushing their dreams and think, "Wow! They have it all together"! I can't even imagine leaving my teaching position, starting a new career, building a school, becoming an entrepreneur or working from home - I don't even know where to begin! But the truth is, we are all on an uphill journey and some of us do not know where we are going or how we will get there! We just choose to walk by faith and take the next step, even when we are afraid, lack vision, and feel stuck in the process - even when our friends or family look at us like we have lost our minds!!

Hey there, teacher friend!
It’s scary enough to put yourself in a new situation, change careers, transition into a new teaching path or start a business-but then to feel a lack of support from the people around you-total bummer! You’re not only worrying about getting your business off the ground; you’re also worrying whether people will react negatively or ask a ton of questions. When others don't see your vision, such as your spouse, friends or family, it can be lonely.

One of the most frequent questions I get asked from teachers, regarding the start of their business is, "How do I collect tuition for my micro-school, homeschool or homeschooling business? Should I ask for full payments upfront, or do I request payments by the month or semester? What should be in my contract? " Well, let's get into some nitty gritty today!
Not only do we have to consider HOW we will collect payments, we need to FIRST identify HOW we will communicate our policy for collecting tuition and ways to set our business up for financial security. In addition, many teachers ask about payment plans, discount packages, incentives for paying in full, deposits, and ways to secure financial assets. These are all so imperative!

Hi, teacher friend!
As teachers, we all know the requirements for record keeping, grading, progress monitoring and updating all the "system" information for our students. But one of the most frequent questions I get asked about a HOMESCHOOLING BUSINESS or a MICRO-SCHOOL is... "How do you keep records? What does it look like in this new teaching arena?"
And let me tell you, teacher friend, IT'S NOTHING like you've had to do before!! Get excited! But also...get informed!
And what a great question it is! Not matter what state, country or province you live in, you must follow state guidelines for homeschool requirements and homeschooling other children in your private tutoring business or micro-school. Today I answer some of the most frequent questions I receive in regards to testing, record keeping, grades and so forth!
"Do I keep the record, or do the parents?"
"Do I have to file annual reporting?"
"What does grading look like?"
"What are my state Requirements, Laws, and regulations?"
